UNB, Dhaka :Urging the political parties to refrain from enforcing any political programme during the upcoming SSCexamination, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Tuesday said stern actions will be taken if anyone tries to disrupt the public examinations. He came up with the warning while addressing a press briefing on the country’s prevailing political situation at the PID conference room. The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination is scheduled to begin on February 2 across the country.Inu said, the administration will apply its allstrength for smoothly holding the SSC examination if anyone enforces blockade or hartal during the pubic examination.Terming Monday’s announcement of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to continue the blockade ‘provocative’, he said the government will deal with the blockaders with an iron hand to maintain the law and order. He noted that at least 27 people have been killed while a large number of vehicles torched and vandalised during the countrywide transport blockade BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia called on January 5. “Khaleda Zia is killing democracy in the name of a movement,” he said. The minister also claimed that the BNP chief has put the academic life of several million students into uncertainty.Replying to a query whether Khaleda Zia would be arrested, he said the government would consider it, if necessary.Asked whether cases will be filed against Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman in connection with recent violence, Inu said the administration will decide it, blaming both of them for the acts of sabotage being carried out across the country. He said, the law enforcers were working hard to hunt down those involved in secret attacks. “It’ll take some more time to put an end to the secret attacks.”The minister also said the next general election will be held as per the electoral law. “There’s no scope for holding the election under any unusual and unconstitutional government.”
