The government has taken necessary measures for ensuring hassle-free movements of the home-bound passengers on river routes during the Eid-ul-Azha.
The authorities have intensified its efforts for smooth ferrying of vehicles to avert any traffic congestion on the Paturia-Daulatdia river route for smooth movement of holidaymakers.
Manikganj district administration in collaboration with Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) and Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) are working jointly for easy movement of home-bound passengers during the Eid-ul-Azha. Buses, trucks and other vehicles in large number are carrying home-bound passengers of 21 districts of southern zone of the country using ferries on the Padma river route.
