Prime Minister’s Political Adviser HT Imam on Tuesday said the state would extend necessary cooperation to try the killers of Major General Khaled Mosharraf, Bir Uttam, who was a Sector Commander during the War of Liberation in 1971.
“A murder case should be filed maintaining proper procedures. We will extend our cooperation to this end,” he told a reminiscence meeting arranged marking the “Freedom Fighter-Soldier Killing Day” at Jatiya Press Club conference lounge here.
Major General Khaled Mosharraf Bir Uttam Smrity Parishad organised the discussion addressed by Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque as the chief discussant.
Mahbub Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, Security Expert Major General (retd) AK Mohammad Ali Shikder, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Central Command Council former vice-chairman Ismat Qadir Gama, freedom fighter Mohammed Monirul Haque, Ekattor TV Chief Editor and Managing Director Mozammel Haque Babu and Suchinta Foundation Chairperson Mohammad A Arafat, among others, addressed the function as the special guests.
Smriti Parishad Chairman Salma Khaled, also wife of Khaled Mosharraf, chaired the function while Baby Mosharraf, daughter of Khaled Mosharraf, delivered the welcome speech.
Addressing the event, Mozammel Haque said Khaled Mosharraf laid down his life to establish the spirit of Liberation War and to thwart the conspiracy to make the country imbued with Pakistani ideology.
He said the assassination of Bangabandhu, killings of four national leaders and Khaled Mosharraf were tied to a same thread.
“Those, who could not accept the independence of the country, carried out the August 15 carnage, killings of four national leaders on November 3 and November 7 killings,” he added.
