Stakeholders of Aviation sector urged to ensure passengers’ safety

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali on Monday urged the stakeholders of the aviation sectors to ensure the safety of the passengers.
“If the issue of the highest safety is kept in mind during flight operations, then any accident can be prevented,” the minister made the statement while addressing a programme at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.
Flight operation is a matter of professional proficiency, he said adding that recruitment of skilled manpower has to be ensured in this sector for the sake of safety.
About the efficiency of Bangladeshi pilots, the state minister said, “Whenever I travel with an aircraft of any Bangladeshi airlines, I feel safe thinking that I am travelling under the supervision of an efficient Bangladeshi pilot.
“We have taken up safety confirmation programmes along with modernisation schemes for all the airports in the country as per the directives of the prime minister,” the state minister said.
The making of a third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will soon be started under its extension project.
Additionally, the works of runway extension of strengthening of Sylhet Osmani International airport, Cox’s Bazar Airport, Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram and Jashore Airport are advancing in full force, he added.
“The prime minister is extremely sincere regarding the development of Bangladesh’s rising sector of aviation,” Md Mahbub Ali also said.
