A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinee was stabbed to death allegedly by his friends at Ram Babu Road area of the town on Friday evening.
The victim was identified as Ishtiaq Ahmed Tonmoy, 15, son of Farid Ahmed, SSC examinee from City Collegiate School in the town. Md Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station said, Tonmoy hailing from Nalitabari upazila in Sherpur district was sitting with some of his friends at Ram Babu Road area around 6.30pm. After sometimes Tonmoy locked
in an altercation with his friends and at one stage they stabbed to Tonmoy’s chest indiscriminately. Critically injured Tonmoy was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where the doctors declared him dead, police said. The body was kept at MMCH morgue for autopsy.
