Tidbits: SRK`s `Fan` release pushed to 2016

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer `Fan`, which was initially slated to hit theatres during the Independence Day weekend, has finally been pushed to 2016. Reason? The post-production involving complex visual effects has proved to be quite a laborious task.
A source says, “The team is trying to come up with never-seen-before VFX in the film and that is taking longer than expected. Though the initial release date was pushed ahead by a month, the makers now feel they may not be able to meet the deadline. So, the film has been postponed to early 2016.”
A source close to the project dismisses rumours that Shah Rukh`s knee surgery has delayed the release. “The real reason is that we are yet to shoot another schedule and it will take some time for us to complete the post-production work,” adds the insider.
The film features SRK in a double role – as a superstar and as his lookalike. Former model Waluscha De Sousa and newcomer Shreya Pilgaonkar will be seen in lead roles.
Aashish Singh, vice president-Production at Yash Raj Films, confirms the story, saying: “Due to highly complicated VFX employed for the film, `Fan` will release only in 2016. The exact date will be decided soon.”
