Sri Lanka Cricket team arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday to play three-match ODI series against Bangladesh Cricket team at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the city’s Mirpur.
After reaching Dhaka the tourists straightly went to Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.
Members of Sri Lanka Cricket team have been taking quarantine from Sunday to Tuesday (May 18). After the quarantine, if they become negative for their coronavirus test they will take part in their practice sessions at the BCB-NCA Academy Ground in Mirpur on May 19 and May 20.
Captain of Sri Lanka Cricket team Kusal Perera said, ” We want to play fearless cricket against Bangladesh. When I played with courage, I performed well. I want that my teammates will show plucky performance against Bangladesh.”
Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh in the first ODI at the SBNCS on May 23, will meet the hosts in the second ODI at the same venue on May 25, and will play against the home side in the third ODI at the same venue on May 28.
Before taking part in the first ODI the islanders will play a one-day practice match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) on May 21.
Meanwhile, earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the 23-member preliminary squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series.
The cricketers of Bangladesh preliminary squad are- Tamim Iqbal, Naim Sheikh, Imrul Kayes, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah Riyad, Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Mehidy Hassan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nasum Ahmed, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Shohidul Islam.
The players of Sri Lanka squad are-Kusal Perera (Captain), Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka, Pathum Nissanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Niroshan Dickwella, Ashen Bandara, Wanindu Hasaranga, Ramesh Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Isuru Udana, Akila Dananjaya, Lakshan Sandakan, Dushmantha Chameera, Asitha Fernando, Chamika Karunaratne, Binura Fernando, Shiran Fernando.
Sri Lanka Cricket team will depart Dhaka for Colombo on May 29.
