Sri Lanka defended a modest 136-run target to beat Pakistan by 21 runs in the first Test on the fifth and final day in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Left arm spinner Rangana Herath took 6-43 — 11 wickets in the match-to dismiss Pakistan for 114 to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
For Pakistan only Haris Sohail (34), Asad Shafiq (20) and Sarfraz Ahmed (19) offered any resistance.
Brief scores: Sri Lanka 419 and 138; Pakistan 422 and 114.
