Sri Lanka bag 7th spot beating Fiji 5-3

Sri Lanka finished at the 7th spot in the Hockey World League Round-2 after a 5-3 win over Fiji at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Sunday.
The duel of two island nations saw the Sri Lankans rocked in the very sixth minute with Fabiano Rupeni converting a penalty corner.
However the lead lasted only four minutes as Mohamed Mulafar restored the parity scoring off a penalty corner.
Shamika Gunawardhana’s 18th minute strike saw Sri Lanka take the lead again but the score was leveled by James Saqacala in the three minutes later.
Shamika Gunawardhana’s second strike in the 29th and Rajith Kulathunga’s 41st minute field goal put Sri Lanka in the driving seat and skipper Sandaruwan Sudusingha made it 5-2 in the 48th minute.
Rik Bentley’s 49th minute goal reduced the margin for Fiji but not the outcome of the match.
