Abhimanyu Mukherjee’s Googly, which stars Srabanti and Soham in the lead, is about Dali and Arjun – two people born in a place called Falter. The name of their birthplace and the fact that both of them stammer make them the butt of everyone’s jokes. Things come to such a pass that when Dali’s parents start seeking a groom for her, they are afraid that the prospective groom’s family might back off if they come to know that she stammers. Dali decides not to get married at all, but her father contacts a matchmaker, who finds a good match in Arjun.
When the duo realise that both stammer, they develop a mutual attraction. But Arjun’s father refuses the match, though Arjun refuses to relent. Finally, they get married.
The then takes an unusual turn when Dali becomes reluctant to have a child. But still they have a daughter, Googly. “What happens next forms the crux of the story. Stammering is not easy and I realised that while doing this film. Soham, as a co-actor, was of great help and so was the director. When Abhimanyuda offered me the role I was nervous, but later realised that I have to do it,” said Srabanti.
Soham told us, “Srabanti is one of the most talented actors we have in Tollywood. And I can vouch for this film. It will definitely touch everyone’s heart.”
