PM gets rousing reception in Beijing

A red carpet was rolled out to welcome Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she arrived in Beijing from Kunming on Sunday afternoon.
A special flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Beijing Capital International Airport around 2:00 PM (local time).
On her arrival in the Chinese capital, Hasina was received by Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of China Liu Zhenmin and Bangladesh Ambassador to China Muhammad Azizul Haque.
Hasina was presented a bouquet and then introduced with those in the presentation line. The Prime Minister then walked through the static guard before going to Diaoyutai State Guest House in a ceremonial motorcade where she will be staying during her tour.
Earlier, the Prime Minister departed Changshui International Airport, Kunming for Beijing around 10:30 (local time). The Prime Minister will place wreaths at the monument of the People’s Heroes at Tin’anmen Square.
The following day, Hasina will deliver her keynote speech at China Institute of International Studies. In the afternoon, she will hold official talks with Chinese premier Li Keqiang during which both the countries are expected to complete negotiations on the construction of a deep seaport at Sonadia in Cox’s Bazar.
The talks will be followed by a signing ceremony. In the evening, she will attend a banquet to be hosted by her Chinese counterpart. On Tuesday, the Prime Minister will deliver another keynote speech at the Bangladesh China Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum.
She will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Zhengsheng.
