Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court on Sunday granted bail to detained Hummam Quader Chowdhury, son of war crime convict and BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury (SQC), in a case filed for an attempt to murder seven years ago.Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Md Kaisarul Islam granted bail after the hearing on the bail plea of Hummam Quader Chowdhury. Police arrested Hummam from Dhanmondi in the capital at about 10.30 am on Saturday. Earlier, Magistrate Meher Nigar Suchona of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka sent Hummam, the youngest son of SQ Chowdhury to the jail on Saturday afternoon. He looks after their family business and he is also, one of the accused in the case filed in connection with the leakage of the draft verdict of SQC’s trial. Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Noor-a-Azam said, a police team arrested Hummam from his residence as a warrant for his arrest was pending in a criminal case filed against him. The case was filed with Gulshan Police Station on July 25, 2008.
