State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell donated Taka two crore and fifteen lakh among the distressed sports personalities at the conference room in the National Sports Council on Sunday. The sports personalities are troubled due to coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier, Zahid Ahsan Russell donated Tk one crore among the victim athletes of coronavirus.
He donated Tk two crore and fifteen lakh among the athletes, sports organizers, referees, judges, umpires, sports journalists and personalities, who are related to sports.
He handed over the cheques among the representatives of Dhaka and other 45 District Sports Associations, Divisional Sports Associations on the same day.
Besides, Zahid Ahsan Russell handed over the cheques among the three sports journalists organization. He handed over a cheque of Tk four lakh to Bangladesh Sports Press Associations (BSPA), a chaque of Tk three lakh to Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA), a cheque of Tk two lakh and fifty thousand to Bangladesh Sports Journalists Community (BSJC). Officials of those organizations will give to the distressed journalists in their own initiatives.
During the cheque-hand-over ceremony the Sports Minister said, ” From the very beginning of coronavirus outbreak in the country, we have tried to give financial assistance to the distressed sports personalities. Besides, we donated equipments among the sports athletes and sports personalities to protect coronavirus. Our assistance will be continued.”
