State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr. Biren Sikder MP said the country achieved highest level of success in sports by the strong guidance of sports loving Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He was speaking as chief guest on Thursday at the inauguration ceremony of boxing coaches training course-2016 at Mohammad Ali boxing stadium in the city, said a press release.
The State Minister said the country’s sports are progressing. Like cricket and hockey, boxing would bring success for the country. He hoped that the other sports disciplines would also brighten the image of the country in foreign soil.
National Sports Council Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP) Director General Brigadier General M Shamsur Rahman, Boxing Federation General Secretary MA Quddus Khan and sponsor Sports and Welfare Division Chief of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar were present as special guests in the inauguration ceremony. Director General and Boxing Federation President Maj. Gen Aziz Ahmed presided over the function.
Aziz Ahmed said he would work for the development of boxing.
NSC Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas said the boxing federation already completed talent hunt in grassroots level in all 64 districts across the country and the other disciplines should also finish talent hunt as early as possible in order to search future sportsman.
BKSP Director General Brigadier General M Shamsur Rahman expressed his firm determination to stand besides boxing in the future.
