Bangladesh Under-20 Football team beat India Under-20 Football team by 2-1 goals in their second match of the SAFF Under-20 Football Championship at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
Earlier, Bangladesh Under-20 Football team made an auspicious start in their SAFF Under-20 Football campaign beating Sri Lanka Under-20 Football team by a solitary goal in their first match at the same venue on July 25. Bangladesh Under-20 Football team have taken the top position in the points table grabbing maximum six points from two matches.
All the three goals were scored in the first half.
Piash Ahmed put Bangladesh Under-20 Football team ahead in the 29th minute of the play. Ahmed got the ball from a through pass of his teammate from the mid field and then, he entered the danger zone after dodging past an Indian defender and made no mistake to put the ball into the net after the deceiving the advanced Indian custodian.
Gurkirat Singh of India leveled the margin by a header using a free-kick from his teammate from the mid field in the 35th minute of the match. A Bangladesh forward was fouled by an Indian defender at the D-box of India. Thus, the referee awarded a penalty to Bangladesh Under-20 Football team. Piash Ahmed made it 2-1 by a spectacular spot-kick in the injury team of the first half.
After the lemon-break, Bangladesh booters were engaged to defend their defence against the good number of attacks of India. Bangladesh adapted a defensive technique in the second-half and earned their much-awaited victory.
