Ebola virus: Spl directives in Ctg Airport

Civil Surgeon of Chittagong Dr. Sarfaraz Khan has asked the Civil Aviation authority of Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport to keep strict vigilance over the inflow of foreign nationals those disembarking at the airport. Following the directives of the Health Directorate, Bangladesh , Civil surgeon ensures the matter to airport authority as a precautionary measures following the declaration of emergency on Ebola virus across the world.
The directives was told that any suspicious air passenger in the airport should bring under treatment instantly. He said a team of physicians of Civil Suregon office will monitor the passengers coming from abroad with necessary medicare assistance at the temporarily installed Health Centre in the ground floor of the airport terminal.
While contacted on Saturday evening, Airport Manager Wing Commander Nure Alam told that Chittagong airport has no air connections with the west African countries but any one from these virus affected countries may come through this airport on transit flight . So we should be more careful about the arrivals of foreigners and said he did not yet received any such directives from the Health Directorate in this respect.
