Speakers at a function have laid emphasis on spread of Liberation War spirit with a view to strengthening communal harmony in the country.
They said, the extreme fundamentalist and militant groups are now taking chance to destabilize the communal harmony due to absence of healthy cultural practice. So, the incidents of communal violence are taking place in different parts of the country.
In this situation, they have urged to expand the spirit of Liberation
War among the young generation. They made the above statements while speaking at a function organized by Bangladesh Nari Pragati Sangha [BNPS] at CIRDAP auditorium in the city on Thursday.
Executive Director of BNPS and freedom fighter Rokeya Kabir presided over the meeting where, among others, martyr’s wife Shyamoli Nasreen Chowdhury, Everest winner MA Muhith and journalist Nikhil Bhadra also spoke.
Besides, Associate Professor of International Relations Department at Dhaka University Tanjimuddin Khan and Professor of BRAC University Afsan Chowdhury took part in the discussion.
Rokeya Kabir in her speech said: “The new generation will have to be well-educated with modern philosophy. Only, the young generation can take the responsibility to build a Bangladesh in line with the Liberation War spirit.”
