Police recovered two dead bodies on Saturday of a child and an youth who went missing after their speedboat capsized in the Padma River two days ago.
With this, the death toll from the Thursday’s boat drowning in the Padma rose to three.
The deceased were identified as Amir Hamza, 6, son of one Imran Faraji from Kharakandi village in Shibchar Upazila and Miraj Hossain, 20, son of Abdur Rahman, an inhabitant of Banaripara Upazila under Barisal district.
The minor boy Amir Hamza’s father, mother and brother were also injured in the incident. Local sources said that the speedboat capsized near the Kathalbari Ghat in the Padma when a trolley rammed it.
Zakir Mollah, Officer in Charge of Sibchar confirmed the news to the media.
