Speakers for proper utilisation of state-owned land for industries

Speakers stressed at a meeting on Sunday that the unused lands of state owned industries will have to be utilised properly establishing new industries through joint investment by public and private sectors for boosting the economy. The observation came from a meeting of the Executive Committee of National Council for Industrial Development (ECNCID) at the Industries Ministry in the city while Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu presided.
Industries Ministry organised the meeting for reviewing the implementation progress of taking decisions at National Council for Industrial Development (NCID) meeting. Amu said present government is working relentlessly to fulfill the demand of gas in industries and diversify the production of jute goods and bring variety in the products of sugar industries.
He underscored the need for using cylinder gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in the households and transports to ensure adequate supply of gas in industries.
The meeting has taken various decisions including increasing the credit facilities, motivating people on agro-based industries, expanding the shipping industry, ship breaking and waste management and forming packaging law.
Among others, Industries Senior Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Agriculture Secretary Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah, Energy and Mineral Resources Division Secretary Nazimuddin Chowdhury and Science and Technology Secretary M Sirajul Haque Khan were present in the meeting.
