Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury returned home on Thursday night from Delhi after joining the Microeconomic Policy and Capacity Building Workshop for Legislators in South Asia. The International Monetary Fund (IMF)- South Asia Regional Training and Technical Assistance Centre (IMF-SARTTAC) arranged the programme, said a press release here on Friday.
Speaker emphasized the role of maintaining economic stability across the globe while addressing the inaugural session of a two-day workshop. Besides, she was the chief guest at a programme marking the 49th Independence and National Day organised by Bangladesh High Commission. State Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali, Senior Secretary of National Parliament Secretariat Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan and other high officials welcomed her at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
