Tanzila Haq Chowdhury Mitu, who was arrested for instigating the suicide of her husband Dr Mustafa Murshed Akash, was released from jail on Wednesday evening after over seven and half months.
She walked out of Chittagong Central Jail around 7pm, said Deputy Jailer Abdus Salam. Mitu was released after the order of her permanent bail granted by the High Court reached the jail, he said. On August, she secured bail from the High Court, reports CCJ.
Akash, 33, reportedly killed himself in Chandgaon residential area of the city in the early hours of February 1 last after an altercation with his wife Mitu about her alleged illicit affairs on the same day, police arrested Mitu over the suicide .
