Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury left here on Thursday for Jeddah to perform holy Umrah.
An EK-583 flight carrying the speaker left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9.55am, an official release said.
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury sought doa from parliament members, countrymen and the people of her constituency as well.
Senior Secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Dr Md Abdur Rob Hawlader and concerned high officials were present at the airport to see Dr Shirin off.
She will also offer Ziarat at the Rawza Mubarak of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in Madina.
The speaker is expected to return home on March 26.
