Speaker invites S’pore to attend CPA confce in Dhaka in November

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee Chairperson Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Thursday said the CPA is working to establish and expand parliamentary democracy across the globe.
“CPA is a unique organization of 52 Commonwealth countries for practising democracy and it is working to establish and expand parliamentary democracy across the world,” she said during a meeting with Singaporean Parliament Deputy Speaker Lim Biow Chuan at Singapore Parliament.
In the meeting, they talked about the 63rd CPA conference to be held in Bangladesh, the activities of CPA Singapore chapter and bilateral issues.
Chaudhury said the CPA is working to make aware the young generation about democratic system of governance, politics and parliamentary democracy.
She invited Singapore to send a delegation to the next CPA conference to be held in Bangladesh on November 1-8.
