SP accused of raping junior colleague

A junior female colleague of police superintendent (SP) Mokter Hossain has filed a case against him for allegedly raping her.
The victim, working as a police Inspector, filed the case with Dhaka’s Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 on Thursday.
Judge Kamrunnar recorded the plaintiff’s statement, and asked Uttara East Police Station to accept it as a case (FIR), confirmed prosecutor Afroza Farhana Orange.
According to the case statement, both the plaintiff and the accused Moktar Hossain were working in UN peacekeeping mission in Sudan. At that time there a relationship developed between them.
In the afternoon of December 20, 2019, the accused wanted the key of her car in the house of the plaintiff. When the plaintiff went to bring out the key from the pocket of the uniform, the accused grabbed her from behind and raped her.
‘Later, Moktar Hossain threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident.
Two days later, on December 22, the accused again went to the plaintiff’s house saying that he had misunderstood the previous incident.
But even on that day he raped the plaintiff by force again. The accused Moktar also threatened the plaintiff not to tell anyone about this incident.
The statement added, “If the plaintiff informs anyone of the incident of rape, she may face troubles.
The accused raped the plaintiff several times by promising to marry her, she alleged.
At last, the victim complained the matter to the police department. That allegation is being investigated.
Accused Moktar Hossain has been working as SP of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) in Bagerhat.
