An elderly woman was allegedly slaughtered to death by her son at Hasarkandi village of Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rehena Akter, wife of Kalu Mia, inhabitant of the village.
The law enforcing members also detained the killer, Fazul Haq Firoj, 35, police said.
Katiadi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ahsan Ullah said, “Some neighbours of the victim visited the house as the room was under key and lock from outside in the morning and found the slaughtered body at 8:30am.”
A team of police went to the house receiving information recovered the body and sent it to the Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital morgue, said the Police official, who suspected that she was murdered by her son over a long family dispute issue, the OC said. We have detained the alleged killer to interrogate in this connection, he said.
A case was lodged with the police station in connection with the murder, the OC added.
