Lankan football team reach Nilphamari to play FIFA friendly match

The Sri Lankan national football team, which arrived in the capital on Sunday night to take part in the Suzuki SAFF Championship, reached on Monday at Nilphamari to take part in the friendly match against Bangladesh national football team.
The friendly match is scheduled to be held on Wednesday (Aug 29) at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari.
Bangladesh Television will telecast the match live while Bangladesh Betar will also provide live stream of the match that will get underway at 4 pm. There is huge enthusiasm among the local football fans ahead of the friendly match.
Some 13,000 tickets out of 20,000 with prices between Tk 100 to Tk 1000 – were sold in Nilphamari at eleven branches of different commercial banks in Nilpahamari from Sunday and it will continue till Tuesday (August 28).
The ticket is also available at stadium counters. The national booters boosted by the U-23 team’s performances in the Asian Games, where Bangladesh qualified for the round of sixteen for the first time by beating Qatar and drawing against Thailand.
However, the boys in red and green were eliminated by North Korea in the knock out stage.
