BNP Standing Committee Member Goyeswar Chandra Roy on Friday accused some media of trying to stigmatize the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and his late brother Arafat Rahman Koko.
“To please the government, several media are trying to stigmatize Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman Koko. It is a very sad matter,” Goyeswar Roy said while
addressing a programme at the party’s Nayapaltan office organised to commemorate late Arafat Rahman on the occasion of his fifth death anniversary.
Goyeswar Roy said, “Tarique and Koko might have fallen into trap since they lost their father Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman before they become adult. But that did not happen.
Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s two sons, Tarique and Koko have ideal characters. Never they resorted to immorality.
Goyeswar Roy asked the party men to take to the street for freeing democracy from the present ‘autocrat’ regime.
BNP Standing Committee Member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, party leaders Abdus Salam, Habibur Rahman Habib, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel and DSCC Mayor candidate of the party Ishraq Hossain, among others, were present.
