Some 419 cases lodged for violating health rules in Bagerhat

Mobile courts conducted by Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO) and Executive Magistrates convicted some 426 persons and realized a sum of more that 3 lakh taka as fine form them for violating health rules in the first week (during the period from the morning of July 23 till the night of July 29) of the strict lock down for a fortnight after raiding the different places of Bagerhat district in the midst of corona pandemic. During the period as many as 11 persons were convicted and sentenced by the mobile courts to suffer simple imprisonment for different terms.
Mohammad Azizur Rahman, DC, Bagerhat told, we are trying our best to motivate the people to comply with all the commandants and prohibitions imposed by the Government in the country to check the Covid-19 pandemic. He added, we are distributing masks among the people and miking regularly to make the common people conscious about health rules.
Not only that but also we are distributing food items among the destitute and low income group people as the gifts from the Premier. We are also trying to bring them who are violating and disobeying the health rules without any reason into book. In the first week of the strict lockdown some 419 cases were lodged with mobile courts for violating the health rules in the district and a some of Tk. 3 lakh 6 thousand 2 hundred 50 were realized as fine from 426 persons.
