Sohel on fresh remand in sabotage case

BNP Joint-Secretary General Habib-UN-Nabi Khan Sohel was placed yesterday on a fresh remand of four days in another sabotage case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Ahsan Habib of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the remand order after hearing.
The investigation officer of the case DB Police of South Ramna Zonal Team SI Saiful Islam produced the accused in the court
seeking a 10-day remand for smooth investigation of the case.
Defence lawyers Joynul Abedin Mesba, Mohiuddin Chowadhury and others vehemently opposed the remand plea and sought Sohel’s bail. On the other hand, Thana General Registration Officer Mahmudur Rahman opposed the bail petition and sought remand for Sohel.
On September 18, Sohel was arrested from Gulshan area of the capital. The following day, a Dhaka court granted a five-day remand to question Sohel in another sabotage case.
