Library is an Institution to enlighten our society and one of the important keys to make digital Bangladesh. Library or Information center contains large collections of books, journal articles, magazine, newspaper, E-resources etc. A library provides different type of services, needs to use up-to-date technology. To run a library, it needs professionally skilled manpower, user education and promotion library resources etc. Nowadays social media is fast becoming a regular part of library communities to know the latest resources and services of a library. Its online activities carry a strong and influential promotion of library resources and services by using Face book, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, YouTube, RSS feed and many other social media.
Social media presents a good number of opportunities for libraries it promotes library services time to time to its community. Face book, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn are the important social media tools to promote library services: Borrowing Privileges, Purchase Suggestion, Book Issue and return, My Athens, Mobile Library Site, Course Reserve, Subject Wise Database, Information Literacy and Classes, News Clippings, Search and Browse, Photocopy Service, Citation Management, Wi-Fi Service, Training/Workshop etc. Every services notification you got through social media it depends on different library policy also.
Library and Information Centre can use many open access resources and services library automation software and digital library software, many open access e-books and Journal which are effective for library user community. Social media can help library user to know about the services and new resource and technology of a library.
Librarians know about many open source resources like software and technology through social media like Face book, YouTube, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, and more social media tools. Library and Information Centre gives many community based services like promote reading habit, organize traditional programs this builds mental health of our people. To build a beautiful society and nation library and Information center play an important role in this regards social media create awareness through Bangladeshi People.
