The 10 daylong book and SME Fair ended at Munshi Meherullah Maidan in Jashore town on Saturday.
Swapon Bhattachariya, State Minister for Local Government and Rural Development kicked off the fair as the chief guest on February 28. Abdul Awal, Deputy Commissioner, Jashore chaired the inaugural session. Books written by local writers as well as famous writers and goods produced by local small industries were showed and sold in around 100 stalls at the fair.
Jashore district administration arranged the book fair while SME Foundation arranged the SME fair at the same place. Shahadat Hossain Kabil, writer of a book on journalism told that his book was sold in the fair.
Narsingdi Correspondent adds: The eight daylong ( Feb 28 to March 7) SMEs’ Fair ended here at Narsingdi Shilpakala Academy premises on Thursday evening. The fair arranged with the assistance of District Administration, Bangladesh Small Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) and National Association of small Cottage Industries(NASIB). Minister for Industry Adv Nural Mojid Muhamud Humyain inaugurated the fair on Fev 28 as chief guest. In the concluding day function, present MP and former State Minister for Water Resourses Lt Colonel (retd) Nazrul Islam Hiro attended the fair as chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Syeda Farhana Kawnine in the chair.
Assistant General Manager of BSCIC, Sazzad Hossain ,Additional Police Super Circle Shahariar Alam, President of District Chamber of Commerce Abdullah -Al- Mamun and President of NASIB Mohammad Nurul Hoque addressed the function as special guests.
