The government is planning to provide smart phone and tab for the school going students with a view to gather knowledge on modern technology.
The smart phone and tab will be kept at the school library, State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak on Thursday said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of ‘Grameenphone Smartphone and Tab Expo 2016’ at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city.
 The aim of the fair is to provide the users first-hand experience of smart phone and tablet computer for the customers. The three- day long event was orgainsed by Expo Maker. This is the 5th event of its kind by Expo Maker.
The event will end on Saturday. The local and international technology brands are showcasing the digital devices with special offers and gifts.
Countries top mobile operator Grameenphone is the title sponsor and Elite, Huwaei, Samsung and Symphony is the co-sponsor of this expo.
There are many renowned brands already confirmed participations at the event. Some of those are, Samsung, Symphony, Huawei, Elite, Helio, Stylus, Gloldberg, Asus, Lenovo, MyCell, Twimns, Prestigio, Xiaomi and Gadget Gang Seven.
The Expo gate will open from morning 10 AM to night 8 PM. The entry fee of fair is Tk20.
Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mahmud Hossain and Ececutives of various mobile phone companies were present at the inaugural ceremony.
