Slim win for Dhaka Platoon in BBPL

Dhaka Platoon registered a slim 20-run win over Cumilla Warriors in their Twenty20 cricket match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpiur on Friday.
Sent into bat first, Dhaka Platoon piled up a massive 180 for the loss of seven wickets and then restricted Cumilla Warriors to 160 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
Opener Tamim Iqbal of Dhaka Platoons hit a terrific 74. His 53-ball innings was ornamented with four sixes and six fours. It was Tamim’s 34th T20 half-century.
Dhaka’s Sri Lankan recruit Thisara Perera remained unbeaten with 42. His 17-ball typhoon innings was laced with seven fours and a sixer.
Laurie Evans made 23 from 24 balls featuring two fours.
Soumya Sarkar and Dasun Shanaka of Cumilla Warriors bagged two wickets each conceding 39 and 48 runs respectively.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Abu Hider took one wicket each for 15 and 29 runs respectively.
Thisara Perera of Dhaka Platoon played the key role to restrict Cumilla. He captured five wickets for 30 runs. Thisara Perera was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Besides, Wahab Riaz picked up two wickets for 16 runs.
DJ Malan of Cumilla Warriors notched up a fine 40. His 36-ball innings saw four fours, while wicketkeeper-batsman Mahidul Islam Akon hit a polished 37. His 27-ball innings had two sixes and one four.
Earlier, one-down Soumya Sarkar hit a respectable 35. His 26-ball knock decorated with five fours and a sixer.
Opener Bhanuka Rajapaksa made 29 from 12 balls including three fours and two sixes.
