Readers' Forum: Sleeping hockey federation

block
In the eighties, hockey was the 2nd most popular discipline in this country. The sleeping hockey federation drafts a long chart of league and tournaments in the beginning of every year, but the sketch wallows in the impracticable planning in the end. The federation officials should know that hiring coaches from abroad is not enough for restoring past popularity.. We feel that the Ministry of Sports should carefully watch the hockey federation’s performance to prepare a synopsis to take action accordingly. We suggest the country’s hockey governing body to arrange an international tournament with three national teams including India. I have chosen India because they are the best side in Asia at this moment.
The federation should take all out efforts to organise Dhaka First and 2nd Division Hockey Leagues, Independence Cup, Office League with three services teams, Bangladesh Police, BGB, WAPDA, Titas and other office teams as admissible as per law, and the Inter-University Championship Inter-District Hockey.
There should be effective advertisement ahead of each competition in the newspaper, and on the radio and television. About success then, we are optimistic.
