Bangladesh Premier League champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club completed their Group E fixtures of the AFC Cup with another frustrating 5-0 defeat away to Ceres La Salle of the Philippines at Pana-ad Park and Football Stadium on Tuesday.
Sheikh Jamal had earlier lost 2-0 to Ceres at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Sk Jamal finished bottom of Group E, a victory over Tampines Rovers of Singapore in their last home fixture accounting for their entire tally of 3 points.
Ceres advanced to the last 16 of the AFC Cup as the Group E champions, featuring a hat-trick by Adrian Gallardo.
Spaniard Bienvenido Maranon opened the opened the scoring in the 7th minute before his fellow countryman Gallardo’s blistering strike put the hosts two-up just a minute later.
Half-time score was 2-0 to Ceres.
