The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) yessterday arrested 61 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Wednesday.
Detectives and the law enforcers jointly arrested them and seized illegal drugs from their possession.
The DMP seized 10,046 pieces of sedative Yaba tablets, 142 grams of heroin, 21 cans of beers and 70.670 kg of cannabis from their possessions.
DMP’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Hafiz Al Asad confirmed the information.
Based on information, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, he said.
