A sixth grader was violated at Modhupur village of Monirampur Upazila in Jashore district on Thursday.
Police and locals said that the student was returning home from school. On reaching near the jute field, Abdus Sattar, a father of five children forcibly took her into the jute field for rape and fled.
The child told her mother about the incident.
When every one knew it, Abdus Sattar and his associates became desperate to influence the child’s parents.
Madhupur Government Primary School head teacher Saidul Islam said the child’s family filed a written complaint with him. He immediately notified the managing committee about the ugly matter.
Azizur Rahman, the President of the Managing Committee, admitted the incident that Abdus Sattar married the younger sister- in- law after the death of his wife. Currently he has five children. Such allegations against Abdus Sattar in the past were lodged.
Monirampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam said that he had sent a police team led by SI Atikur Rahman on the spot. Legal action will be taken soon against Abdus Sattar. A case was filed in this connection. Efforts are on to arrest the accused.
