Police have arrested six robbers in connection with a mass robbery in Tilli area of Saturia in Manikganj district. The houses of the robbers arrested by the police are in different parts of the country. Their identities are in prison. There are 10 cases pending against the robber Shamsher Miah (48) including arms and robbery. There are multiple cases including robbery against other accused.
The arrested robbers recovered 40 mobile phones, a pistol with one round of ammunition, gold, silver jewelery, cash, fridge and various other domestic weapons. Manikganj Superintendent of Police Rifat Rahman Shamim gave a press briefing on the issue around 11am on Sunday.
In a press briefing, Superintendent of Police Rifat Rahman Shamim said that while they were in jail, they planned a large-scale robbery in Manikganj and other parts of the country due to their close friendship. As part of that, the robbers robbed the streets of Tilli Bridge area of SaturiaUpazila on the night of June 2 and June 8.
The robbers hacked a local van driver named Razzak and seriously injured him. Razzak is being treated at a private hospital.
