Six new government medical colleges will start academic activities from the next academic year, said an official release yesterday. Classes will begin in those medical colleges on January 10, the home coming day of Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The approved public medical colleges are Shaheed M. Mansur Ali Medical College in Sirajgsanj and Manikganj, Jamalpur, Patuakhali, Tangail and Rangamari medical colleges, according the release. Meanwhile, the official release says that Brahmanbaria Civil Surgeon Dr. Narayan Chandra Das has been made office on special duty (OSD) under the department of health at the directive of Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on the charges of recruitment corruption.
