Six more killed in road crashes

At least six persons were killed and 50 others injured in separate road crashes in the country on Monday.
In Rajshahi, a man was killed and 19 others were injured when a bus overturned on a road at Belpukur in Puthia on Monday.
The deceased was identifoies as Aminul Islam, 30.
Rajshahi Sadar Fire Service Senior Station Officer Farhad Hossain said a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Rupa Enterprise’ overturned on the road at Belpukur BGB check-post at 1:00pm, leaving 20 passengers injured. The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Aminul dead.
Mostafizur Rahman, Sub-Inspector of Shibpur highway police outpost confirmed the news to media.
A schoolgirl was killed and another critically injured in a road accident when a truck ran over them at Library Bazar area of Pabna district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Bindu Khatun, 13, daughter of Shafiqul Islam Dipu, a resident of Mete Sarak. Bindu was the student of class VIII of Pabna Police Line School,
Pabna Sadar Police Station OC Obayedul Haque confirmed the news.
In Netrakona, a child was killed and six others were injured in a road crash when a bus hit a CNG auto-rickshaw in Sadar upazila of the didstrict yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Swarna Akther, 8, daughter of Sabuj Mia, a resident of Barhatta upazila.
Md Burhan Uddin Khan, Officer in-Charge of Netrakona Model Police Station confirmed the matter.
A two years old child Maria was killed by a motorcycle at East Sutarpara village in Dohar upazila of Dhaka. Maria was the daughter of Swapan of the village.
Eyewitnesses said that Maria was playing near the street at about 8:00am. At that time a motorcycle rammed her. After the incident, locals rushed her to medical where doctor declared her dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Dohar Police Station Sheikh Sirajul Islam confirmed the news.
In Chattogram, Ashrafuzzaman, 32, was killed in a road accident in the city gate area of Akbar Shah Police Station. Locals blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong highway for half an hour protesting the accident.
The deceased was Ashrafuzzaman was the son of Oli Ahmad of the area. Akbar shah Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jasim Uddin confirmed the news.
