Six mertro rail couches arrive at Mongla

A Thai flag bearing ship named MVSPM Bankok anchored Mongla International Sea Port at about 4.30 pm on Wednesday Carrying Six Couch for Dhaka Metro Rail. A combined technician team consists of the personnel from Japan, Malaysia and Bangladesh is supervising the activities to ease the unloading process.
Local agent of the foreign ship and Managing Director of Ancient Steamship Company Ltd. Md. Ohiduzzaman told the newsmen that DMTCL imported the six couches for Dhaka Metro Rail. In the initiative stage, machinery parts of six couch has been brought and it will be unloaded within 24 hours.
He has also told the newsmen that another 138 couch will come to this port within 2022 gradually. After unloading the couch , it will reach to Diabari of Uttra through Burges.
Mongla Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa has told the newsmen that it’s the first time that the machinery parts of Dhaka Metro Rail has come to Bangladesh through Mongla Port. Earlier, the machinery parts for Rupur Atomic Energy Centre also came through Mongla Port that proves the ability of it. Various steps have been taken to increase the ability and make the Port more dynamic, he added.
Sayed Jahid, proprietor of the unloading company named Mrs. Khulna Traders, has told the newsmen that they are now getting more opportunities to use the port in comparison to previous time.
This unloading process proves that the Mongla Port is now a modern and comfortable sea port in the world.
 It is learnt that Dhaka Metro Rail will change the communication system of Dhaka City and mitigate the sufferings of the common passenger. Metro Rail will be built 11.73 km. from Uttara to Agargoan and another 20.1 k.m. from Uttara to Matijheel. It will carry 80 thousand passengers per hour.
