Members of Armed Police Battalion arrested six people, including two women in possession of 14 gold bars and 300 grams of gold ornaments at Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Tuesday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Kamrul Islam,53, Mohsin Badal,45, Azad Sagor,40, Mojibar Rahman,48, Jesmin Badal,42, and Ismat Ara Laiju,40.
Senior assistant superintendent of APBn Alamgir Hossain said the arrestees arrived here from Kuala Lumpur by a flight of Bangladesh Biman at about 7:30 am.
When the arrestees were leaving green channel, APBn members challenged them at about 10:00 am.
They recovered 14 gold bars and 300 grams of gold ornaments from their possession.
