Six die after taking alcohol

At least six persons including five in Khulna died after drinking excessive alcohol during celebration of Durga Puja in two districts on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
In Khulna, at least five persons, including two siblings, died after drinking excessive alcohol in Khulna city and Rupsa upazila during celebration of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Hindu community.
The deceased were identified as: Sujon Shil, 26,
from Galaxy intersection of city, Prosenjit Das, 29, his elder brother Tapos, 35, from Gollamari area, Raju Biswas,25, and Parimal.
Of them, four died within a few hours from Wednesday morning till 12 noon, while one at early hours.
Dr Alamgir, duty physician of Khulna Medical College Hospital confirmed the matter to the media.
The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue, he said.
Meanwhile, another college student has died reportedly after consuming excessive liquor in Baraigram upazila of Natore district on Tuesday night.
Deceased Sree Pranto Sarkar, 21, was a honours second-year student at Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah Government College. He was the son of one Ranjit Sarker, a resident of Diarpara area under Banpara municipality.
Local sources said that, Pranto along with his friends took excessive liquor on Tuesday afternoon when they were celebrating Durga Puja.
