Six Chinese nationals working on the Karnaphuli Tunnel Project have been mugged in Chittagong’s Rangadia.
The incident was reported from an area close to Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company on Friday, police said. No suspects have been detained. The victims are employed by a Chinese construction company working on the tunnel project, locals said.
A group of four muggers threatened the victims with a gun during the robbery, Karnaphuli Police Station OC Syedul Mustafa told bdnews24.com. The muggers made off with six mobile phones, a wad of cash and credit cards, according to local
journalists. Police are conducting a raid on the Paraki beach area of Rangadia, the OC said, adding that a complaint has yet to be filed over the incident.
