Six BCL men of NSTU suspended over rival clash

The authorities of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) has suspended for an interim period six students in connection with a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the university campus.
The decision was taken at a meeting on Saturday night, said the university’s vice-chancellor Dr Ohiduzzaman.
The suspended students are: Abdul Hamid Bappi of Pharmacy, Nasir Ahmed Rana of English, Saiful Haque of Food Technology and Nutrition Science, Nayeem Rahman of
Information and Communication Engineering, Sajjadul Islam of English and Nasir Ahmed of Economics Department.
Ten people were injured in a clash between two factions of BCL at the university on Saturday following a brawl over the distribution of special feast on the Victory Day on Friday night.
Campus sources said a chase and counter-chase took place between Sajjad-Badrul group and Bappi group on the campus on Saturday morning. At one stage, the groups locked in a clash that left 10 students injured.
Of the injured, two were admitted to Noakhali General Hospital.
