Six activists of Jamaat held at Nabagram

Police arrested six leaders and activists of Jamaat E Islami Bangladesh from a madrasa for girls at Nabagram Road area of the city on Friday afternoon suspecting them as participants of a sabotage conspiracy meeting.
Nurul Islam, officer in charge of Barishal Kotwali police station, acknowledging the fact said the arrested six were Bhola district JI amir (president) Fazlul Karim, 63, Jhalakathi municipal JI amir Abdul Hye, 55, Gournadi municipal former amir Kamrul Islam Khan, 63, Satkhira Shamnagar JI activist Khalilur Rahman Tarafdar, 46, Binoykathi union under Jhalakathi district JI activist Mahbub Alam, 38, Madhavpasha (Babuganj upazila of Barishal) union JI activist Keramat Ali, 65,.
Police arrested them as participants of a secret meeting suspected for conspiracy and planning for sabotage and some Jihadi literature also recovered from their custody, police official claimed.
They would be produced before court after interrogation, he added.
