SIU closed over murder of student

Sylhet International University has been closed for two days from Wednesday after the murder of a student known to be an activist of pro-government Chhatra League.
Habibur Rahman Habib, a BBA 4th year student of the university, was wounded in an attack on Tuesday afternoon in the city’s Shamimabad area.
He died at the Mount Adora Hospital at 11.45 pm.
University Proctor Muhib Ibne Siraj said the institution had been closed for two days ‘due to unavoidable circumstances’.
Kotwali Police Station OC Sohel Ahmed said on Tuesday afternoon that Habib had been attacked and wounded by activists of Chhatra League.
Habib’s body had been handed over to his relatives after an autopsy, he said.
