On the second day of the book fair on Saturday morning, children entered the fair ground singing and dancing holding their parents’ hands for the puppet of Sisimpur series- Haalum, Shiku, Ikry and Tuktuki- in real life.
They were also seen buying books from different shops.
Children seemed to be enjoying themselves as they were playing, buying books and taking pictures with the characters of Sisimpur at
Shishu Chattar, a platform that has been dedicated to children in the fair for learning and playing at the same time.
The fair has dedicated four hours –11:00am to 3:00pm-especially for children which they are calling Shishu Prahor on every Friday and Saturday.
Iffat Ara, a class one student of Azimpur Girls’ School, told The New Nation that I danced with haalum and tuktuki and bought three story books.
Nafiul Islam Utsho of Government Laboratory School and College, said that he is very happy to come to the book fair. He likes to play Sisimpur puppets. He also bought some books on moral education.
Praising the arrangement of Sisimpur titled “Shishu Prahor”, Nabila Jahan, a resident of Baily Road in the capital, who came to the fair with her child, said, the total management of the authority is better than the last year. My child also enjoyed the Shishu Prahor.
Shopkeepers said, the sale was not good on the second day.
