A four-member team led by Judith Hubbard, Assistant Professor of Earth Observatory of Singapore called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Wednesday at the latter’s office of the university. Prof Dr Syed Humayun Akter of the Department of Geology of Dhaka University was present on the occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest particularly of strengthening bi-lateral cooperation between Earth Observatory of Singapore and Dhaka University.
The members of the team praised the performance of the DU students in different workshops, seminars, and training programmes on earth and environmental issues organized by the organization.
They expressed keen interest to conduct joint collaborative programmes and projects in the south Asian region specially in Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar.
Prof Arefin Siddique apprised them of the academic and research activities of Dhaka University in brief. He thanked the guests for their visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic activities.
