Singair shops fined for selling over-priced products, expired drugs

Four shops including a pharmacy have been fined for selling expired drugs and products at higher prices at Singair in Manikganj district.
The Manikganj Consumer Rights Protection Department conducted the operation on Monday (April 19) at around 10 am and fined a total of Tk 6,500 from one pharmacy, one grocery store and two fruit shops.
Under the direction of Manikganj District Commissioner SM Ferdous, Department of Consumer Protection of Manikganj District Office conducted an operation at Chandahar, Jamirta and Maniknagar Bazar of Singair Upazila and fined for selling expired drugs and other products at higher prices and not displaying the price list.
Consumer Rights Protection Department alerted buyers present in the market to ensure wearing masks.
Asaduzzaman Rumel, Assistant Director of the district Consumer Protection Department, said such campaigns would continue.
